De Brauw Law Prize awarded to Bhagat, Bolton and Romano 

The winners of the three prizes in the 2008 Working Paper Competition were announced at ECGI's General Assembly held at the IESE Business School, Barcelona  on 11 April 2008.

The winners of the De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek Law Prize for the best paper in the Law series were Sanjai Bhagat, University of Colorado at Boulder, Leeds School of Business, Brian Bolton, University of New Hampshire, Whittemore School of Business & Economics and Roberta Romano, Yale Law School, NBER for their paper "The Promise and Peril of Corporate Governance Indices".

The winners of the Egon Zehnder International Prize for the best paper in either series on company boards and their role in corporate governance, were Daniel Ferreira, London School of Economics, CEPR and ECGI, Miguel Ferreira, ISCTE Business School and Clara Raposo, ISCTE Business School for their paper " Board Structure and Price Informativeness"

The winners of the Standard Life Investments Finance Prize for the best paper in the Finance series were Rui Albuquerque, Boston University, CEPR and ECGI and Neng Wang Columbia Business School for their paper "Agency Conflicts, Investment, and Asset Pricing"

These annual prizes were established by the ECGI in 2005.  To be eligible for a prize, a paper must have appeared in either of ECGI’s Finance or Law Working Paper series and be deemed to have made a substantial contribution to the knowledge of corporate governance in Europe.
