De Brauw resident-partner Douwe Groenevelt on The European's Court opinion that sports fans are allowed to also watch live matches by foreign suppliers. 

Licensees that provide exclusivity in a country act contrary to European law. De Brauw resident partner Douwe Groenevelt comments: "The Court's opinion is that a sports game -other than movies, music, etc.- are not 'truly' eligible for copyright protection because there is no intellectual creation".
