On 27 June 2008 the European Parliament and the European Council reached an informal second-reading agreement on the inclusion of aviation in the EU Emissions Trading Scheme ("EU ETS"). This Legal Alert highlights the main elements of the draft "Aviation Directive", amending Directive 2003/87/EC on the EU ETS (the "EU ETS Directive").
