Geert Potjewijd comments on the effects of listing on the international exchange in Shanghai

Geert Potjewijd, a partner at De Brauw, commented in the Financieele Dagblad about the effects of listing on the international exchange to be set up in Shanghai.

In Potjewijd's view, the technical preparations are almost finalised. It is now up to the politicians to finally give the green light.

'For foreign companies that are considering a listing, it is just waiting for the 'listing rules', the terms and conditions are connected with the listing. These have not been published yet.  Potjewijd wonders whether "Will you as a foreign company soon need to, for example, immediately publish a press release in Chinese with each substantial press release?' 'And what about setting up a prospectus? Which rules will be applicable? ' The authority of the Chinese supervisor is also not always entirely clear.'
