Jan de Bie Leuveling Tjeenk specialises in financial markets litigation and corporate litigation. Jan is one of De Brauw's Supreme Court litigators. Jan regularly acts for financial institutions and corporates, particularly in disputes relating to financial transactions and markets.
Recent work includes:
- representing a multinational consumer goods company in a dispute with its preference shareholders
- advising one of the largest Dutch retail banks on its advisory role in relation to unit-linked products
- acting for a Dutch financial institution in a landmark case before the Netherlands Supreme Court in relation to securities leasing.
Jan regularly publishes on topics of tort law, the law of damages and financial markets regulation. Jan is also a member of the editorial board of the Dutch law journal Maandblad voor Vermogensrecht.
