Jan Willem specialises in Corporate/M&A and Restructuring/Insolvency. A large part of his work involves cross-border transactions. He advised international companies on the largest recent media and IT acquisitions in the Netherlands and was counsel to a Dutch listed multinational, in several acquisitions by controlled auction, in the retail industry. Jan Willem advised on and coordinated major divestments across Europe and South America.

Jan Willem is counsel to a number of international corporations having substantial interests in the Netherlands and works closely with De Brauw's Finance and Anti Trust teams. He is listed as a leading individual for Corporate/M&A in the Chambers Guides.

His recent work includes advising:

• a listed retail company on the divestment of its majority stake in a competing retailer and the acquisition of a large number of stores
• a listed conglomerate on its public takeover and the divestment of one of its subsidiaires
