Marlou van de Braak advises on and litigates Intellectual Property matters, with an emphasis on trademarks, trade names, unfair competition and advertising. She has extensive experience in IP litigation, both before national and European courts, in interlocutory proceedings, proceedings on the merits and opposition proceedings.
She also advises on non-litigious matters, including the drafting and negotiating of IP (licence) agreements. Since Marlou has a background in Mergers & Acquisitions as well, she is frequently involved in transactions with a large IP component.
She is a regular speaker at Intellectual Property conferences, both nationally and internationally. She also lectures on trademark law issues for professional education bodies such as the Benelux Academy for Trademark and Design Attorneys.
In 2007 Marlou was voted best IP/IT lawyer of The Netherlands, by her peers, and was awarded the Golden Hourglass.
Marlou graduated with a credit from the postgraduate course on international trademark law at the Grotius Academy.
She is an active member of INTA, Marques, AIPPI, BMM and VvRr.
