René Clumpkens is a civil law notary with De Brauw. As a notary, he advises national and international clients on the organisation and (re)structuring of their corporate structure, governance issues, collateral issues in financing transactions and on a wide variety of related legal issues.
René also advises one of the largest Dutch cooperatives. As Dutch cooperatives have recently been widely used in structuring cross-border investments, René has been heavily involved in advising banks, private equity funds and foreign listed companies in this field; he works closely with De Brauw’s Tax, Finance and M&A practices.
Recent work includes advising:
- the two largest Dutch dairy cooperatives in their proposed merger which will create the third largest dairy company in the world
- the organisation of a new corporate structure for the second largest Dutch pension fund with substantial foreign investments.
René served on De Brauw´s managing committee as practice head for the corporate and tax groups from 2001 till 2004. He currently serves on the Advisory Board of the law programme of the Amsterdam Hogeschool.
