Joost Franken specialises in financial law and, in particular, investment management, capital markets (debt and equity) and financial markets regulation.

Joost obtained an LLM from Groningen University in 2004 and obtained an MSc in Industrial Engineering and Management Science at Groningen University in 2005. In 2006, Joost joined De Brauw's Capital Markets practice and, as of 2008, Joost is an associate in the firm's Investment Management Group. He is a permanent author of the Dutch Journal on Financial Law (Tijdschrift voor financieel recht). In 2010, Joost was seconded to Rabobank as in-house counsel.
