Jan Pieter Hustinx co-heads De Brauw's Patent and Technology practice. His practice centres in IP/patent litigation, frequently cross-border in nature. In addition, Jan Pieter is regularly involved in technology related M&A and finance deals, licensing and transactions involving the development, exploitation and transfer of intellectual property rights and know-how.
Recent work includes representing and advising:
- a listed food and beverage multinational in patent litigation encompassing various EU member states
- a listed electronics company in several heavily negotiated global license deals
- a listed international food retailer in the first major public cloud computing deal in the Benelux, also the largest to this date worldwide
- a technology company on IP strategic issues
Jan Pieter is an active member of several national and international professional associations, the executive board of the Association for Advertising Law and the IP licensing comittee of the Intellectual Property Owners Association. Specialist journal Intellectual Asset Management ranks Jan Pieter among the world's 250 leading patent and technology licensing lawyers.
