Koen Limperg is head of the IP/ICT practice. Koen advises and litigates on behalf of national and international clients in all aspects of intellectual property, advertising and regulatory matters. His practice includes IP conflict resolution via litigation as well as negotiation, mediation and arbitration. He is frequently engaged by clients to lead multi-jurisdiction litigation teams. Koen has particular experience in fast-track IP litigation, mainly relating to the food industry, wines and spirits, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, tobacco, fashion and luxury goods.
The practice is strongly cross-border in nature and Koen enjoys to cooperate with foreign IP colleagues and clients, often engaging the extensive network that was created overtime. His know-how is also frequently called on in transactional matters, such as advising a Dutch spirits group on its USD 1.8 billion joint venture with one of the leading world players in liquor distribution and marketing.
Other recent work includes litigating for and advising one of the international conglomerates in drinks and snacks, securing trademark licences for significant clients in the cosmetics, design and fashion industries and providing guidance, both legal and practical, in several product recalls.
Koen lectures and publishes regularly, and was previously Research Fellow at the Munich-based Max Planck Institute for IP and Competition Law.
