Erik Pijnacker Hordijk specialises in EU and Dutch competition law and European Community law. His practice ranges from high-profile second phase merger control cases before the European Commission and the Dutch Competition Authority to litigation on complex state aid and internal market issues before the European Courts. He won the largest damage case against the European Community ever on account of unlawful legislation. He often works closely together with partners in De Brauw’s IP and Tax practices on multidisciplinary assignments.
Recent work includes acting for both merging parties in a large dairy companies merger before the European Commission and coordinating all other merger control filings worldwide.
Erik has authored the leading Dutch commentary on public procurement law as well as numerous other publications. He lectures regularly.
