Bernard Roelvink specialises in corporate law and, in particular, mergers and acquisitions. He has advised on numerous Dutch and cross-border public takeovers, disposals and joint ventures and has recently acted as counsel in a number of contested public takeovers in the Netherlands. His practice includes corporate litigation and acting as a regular outside counsel to Dutch public and private companies, advising them on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance matters, shareholders' issues and corporate governance.
Recent work includes advising:
- Ardagh Glass Group on the EUR 1.7 billion acquisition of metal-packaging group Impress
- Royal DSM on the divestment of business unit Thermoplastic Elastomers (Sarlink) to Teknor Apex Company
- Adecco on its public offer for DNC
- Eriks Group acquisition of Royal Econosto and the public offer for Eriks by SHV and other midmarket public offers
- KKC Group on its demerger in 2010
Chambers describes him as "a logical thinker with excellent negotiations skills".
Bernard regularly speaks at international and national conferences on takeovers and lectures on public offers and corporate governance in the Netherlands. Prior to 1998, Bernard was resident partner of De Brauw's office in Prague and an attorney in the Office of the General Counsel of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Bernard served on De Brauw´s managing committee as practice head for the corporate and finance practices from 2000 to 2005.
