Maikel van Wissen specialises in EU & Competition Law. He advises clients across a wide range of sectors. Maikel has a broad experience as a litigator before European and Dutch courts and regularly defends companies against allegations of infringements of competition law or civil damage claims. He is also active as a competition lawyer in M&A work, representing companies before the European Commission, the Dutch competition authority, and other competition authorities in cases involving complex economic issues. He regularly coordinates and participates in cartel investigations dealing with issues such as leniency, criminal liability for individuals, legal privilege, privacy rules, etc.

Maikel regularly publishes and lectures on EU & Competition Law developments. He is co-founder of the Young Dutch Lawyers Competition Law Association and editor of the Netherlands leading competition law journal, Actualiteiten Mededingingsrecht.
