EU Law, Competition and Regulation
'They know exactly what the client wants.' 'We use them when more international expertise is required.'
Chambers Europe 2012
The EU Law, Competition and Regulation practice group is active in the full spectrum of both EU and Dutch competition law. It is known for its reputation of being able to get clearance for the most complicated transactions from the European Commission and the Dutch Competition Authority. As a result of its close relationship with first tier law firms in every major jurisdiction around the world, De Brauw is capable of coordinating merger filings of its clients in other jurisdictions inside and outside Europe.
The group is well known for its outstanding cartel litigation practice, benefiting from its early involvement in numerous landmark cases handled by the European Courts in Luxembourg and by Dutch administrative and civil courts. It plays a coordinating role for its clients in national and international cartel investigations and litigation. Also in this field, the group benefits from its long-standing relationships with other first tier firms all over the world.
De Brauw has leading experts in sector-specific economic regulation, with significant experience in energy, telecom and financial institutions, as well as general European law and state aid.
