Jaap is resident partner of De Brauw Brussels. He specialises in competition law and regulation in the financial services, energy, telecom and transportation sectors. He also has significant experience in mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance.
In the early ’90s Jaap was resident partner in Prague, Czech Republic, and from 2001 to 2006 he was managing partner of the firm.
Jaap was also General Secretary of the Dutch Association of Listed Companies (VEUO) from 2006 to 2009. From 2009 to 2011, Jaap was a member of the Executive Board of the Netherlands Competition Authority (NMa) and returned to De Brauw in 2011.
