Summary

Tijmen specialises in corporate law with a focus on M&A and corporate governance. Since joining De Brauw in 2011, Tijmen has advised internationally operating listed companies on a wide range of issues, including on corporate governance matters, anti-takeover responses (including those related to shareholder activism) and various legal and practical aspects of their listing. He also regular advises private and state-held enterprises on a wide range of corporate issues.

Tijmen regularly teaches at the faculty of law of the University of Amsterdam, and frequently contributes to journals on Dutch corporate law.
