René Maatman: why does State Secretary Klijnsma not introduce a new pension contract?
The current pension system is under pressure from an aging population, an increasing life expectancy and from the impact of the credit crisis. These developments make it difficult to ensure a good pension and also the trust in the system is put under pressure.
State Secretary Klijnsma stated that she would introduce a new kind of pension contract that would restore confidence in the pension system. She says that her new pension contract won't have any starting up problems. According to De Brauw partner René Maatman, this is too simplistic.
