Master Class – Corporate social responsibility disputes

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has risen quickly on the agenda of many boards and general counsels in just a few years. Increasingly confronted with concrete, binding governance and legal requirements, not least shareholder, financier or business partner’demands, and reporting obligations, they are more than ever forced to engage extensively with this topic. Many have done so by being increasingly vocal about their company’s core values, ambitions, efforts and results. Corporates need to be aware however, that pressure groups- in an effort to raise the bar -are increasingly looking to hold them accountable, both in court,  and to the mirror of the company’s own good intentions.

In this Master Class Berto WintersNicolien van den Biggelaar and Marlies Heemskerk-de Waard will focus on:

  • governance and legal CSR requirements;
  • enforcement trends;
  • a balanced response to these requirements; and
  • civil and criminal liability risks.
