Master Class – Sanctions and Export Controls Update

Economic sanctions and export controls continue to require the attention of the international business sector. The volatile geopolitical landscape translates into frequent changes to various economic sanctions regimes, as well as more attention from the general public for export controls compliance. At the same time, authorities are raising the bar for company compliance and are stepping up their enforcement efforts.

In this Master Class, Rick van ‘t Hullenaar and Marlies Heemskerk-de Waard will focus on recent developments in international economic sanctions and export controls, including:
•       the Trump administration’s pull out of the Iran Deal (JCPOA)
•       the EU’s response to it, including the updated Blocking Regulation
•       new US sanctions against Russia
•       EU and Dutch guidance on internal export control compliance programmes
•       trends in Dutch enforcement

We will discuss these trends with an eye to giving you practical takeaways that you can use in your organisation.
