Webinar Master Class – Hot topics in competition law

September 3, 2020

The past year has been tumultuous when it comes to competition law. The pandemic has led competition authorities to swiftly allow cooperation among competitors. And more surprisingly, they have been quite transparent about it. At the same time, the Commission has presented a number of proposals that significantly overhaul existing competition rules, including a new competition tool and a proposal for ex ante regulation. Big tech firms remain central in the debate about market power and access to data, evidenced by a multitude of enforcement actions across Europe and a Commission inquiry into Internet of Things products. In the meantime, the Green Deal is finding its way to competition law, with the Dutch competition regulator ACM leading the way with new guidelines on how to assess sustainability agreements between competitors.

To help you better understand these key developments and apply lessons learnt in your day-to-day business environment, Maikel van Wissen and Jolling de Pree are pleased to invite you to attend this topical Master Class on Thursday, 3 and Friday, 4 September.

The Master Class will be held in English and via ZOOM – the virtual meeting platform. The session will be interactive, and will start with a presentation by the speakers on relevant topics, addressing views on recent developments and sharing practical experiences. The second part will be a Q&A session with all participants. If you have a question that you would like to see the speakers address, send this in advance to: Liselotte.Wilde@debrauw.com.
