Managing Health Safety and Environment (HSE) is crucial to many companies: they are committed to minimising their impact on the environment, controlling risk to employees and maintaining safe work practices. But despite prioritising HSE, incidents can occur and, where these are serious, supervision and enforcement authorities will investigate. In some cases, this will start out as or lead to a criminal investigation.
It is important for companies to understand the legal framework of the investigation and what the company and its employees should and shouldn’t do. This allows the company to safeguard its interests and those of its employees and to prepare for a potential enforcement process. During this Master Class Roan Lamp, Nicolien van den Biggelaar and Marlies Heemskerk – de Waard will discuss how to manage and respond to HSE incidents. They will also explore how incidents are investigated, discuss best practices for companies under investigation, and share HSE enforcement trends.
Roan, Nicolien and Marlies are looking forward to seeing you at the Master Class on Thursday, 10 September. The Master Class will be held via ZOOM – the virtual meeting platform. The session will be interactive, and will start with a presentation by the speakers on relevant topics, addressing views on recent developments and sharing practical experiences. There will be room for Q&As. If you have a specific topic or question that you would like to see the speakers address, send this in advance to: Liselotte.Wilde@debrauw.com.
