Agreement reached on the merger of Friesland Bank with Rabobank

De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek has advised Rabobank Nederland on the acquisition of Friesland Bank. Friesland Bank will become a 100% subsidiary of Rabobank Nederland. The merger of the customers, employees, branches and activities of Friesland Bank with the Rabobank network in the Netherlands will occur during a transition period. This gradual integration is expected to take approximately two years.

De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek conducted full legal due diligence and negotiated various transaction documents. Signing and closing took place on the same day. As part of completion, DNB issued the required declarations of no objection, the NMa granted a dispensation and furthermore a new governance structure for the Friesland Bank group was implemented. ​
