De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek has advised ABN AMRO Bank on reaching an agreement to acquire Banco CR2 S.A., a privately owned commercial bank in Brazil with operations in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. The acquisition will allow ABN AMRO to offer on-shore products authorized under Brazilian banking regulations to its clients in the energy, commodities and transportation sector.
De Brauw acted as lead counsel in this acquisition, closely working together with Pinheiro Neto, local Brazilian counsel. The SPA is governed by Brazilian law with ICC arbitration in Brazil.
