Helen Gornall will join De Brauw as counsel from 1 September

Helen Gornall will join De Brauw’s competition practice as counsel from 1 September 2018, bringing with her 15 years of expertise in competition law in both private and corporate practice.

Since January 2015 Helen has been Senior Competition Counsel and subsequently Director Competition Law at AkzoNobel. In this capacity she has frequently worked closely with the De Brauw team. Before working at AkzoNobel, she was part of Clifford Chance’s antitrust group in Amsterdam for six years, and worked as an associate at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in London and Brussels for another six years. In 2007/2008, Helen spent 10 months working as part of the antitrust team at Philips in Eindhoven.


She was admitted to the Law Society of England & Wales as a Solicitor in 2004, received her postgraduate Diploma in EC Competition Law from Kings College London in 2006, and has been registered with the Dutch Bar Association as an EU lawyer since 2007.
