Sweco and Grontmij to create Europe’s leading engineering consultancy

De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek has advised Grontmij on a recommended public offer by Swedish listed engineering consultancy company Sweco. Sweco and Grontmij reached a conditional agreement on a recommended public offer by Sweco for all the shares of Grontmij.

The offer was unanimously recommended by the executive board and the supervisory board of Grontmij and was supported by Grontmij’s major shareholders and the two of Sweco largest shareholders. The combined engineering consultancy company will have approximately 14,500 employees with an annual total turnover of approximately EUR 1.7 billion.


De Brauw acted as legal counsel to Grontmij, and Klaas de Vries was lead partner.
