Sebastien is a senior associate in De Brauw’s international arbitration and construction practices. Sebastien holds degrees in Chemistry, Statistics and Law from the University of Auckland and a master of laws from Leiden University. For his studies Sebastien has been awarded a number of prizes including, the Dean’s Award in Law, the Senior Prize in Chemistry, the Leiden Excellence Scholarship and the Spencer Mason Traveling Scholarship.
His area of expertise is providing advice and litigation support for complex construction, technology and patent disputes. He is also regularly engaged by clients to provide both strategic and contract advice in relation to construction and project related issues.
Prior to joining De Brauw, Sebastien practised for a number of years as a barrister and solicitor at LeeSalmonLong, a tier one litigation firm in Auckland, New Zealand. In this role he gained extensive court experience alongside senior practitioners and Queen’s Counsel. He has appeared as counsel in disputes in the District Court, High Court and Court of Appeal.
