Oscar specialises in international patent and technology-based litigation where his engineering background serves him well. He handles patent cases spanning a wide variety of technical fields, including telecom, electronics, pharmaceuticals, chemical and biotechnology.
Oscar was lead associate of the team representing Ericsson in the Dutch part of its global licensing dispute with Apple, one of the largest legal battles in mobile technology in 2015. Other recent work includes representing a pharmaceutical company in the Dutch part of a patent dispute involving one of the most promising new drug treatments of 2015. Oscar also successfully defended an orthopaedic aid manufacturer in a series of international disputes with a fellow manufacturer regarding the alleged misappropriation of trade secrets.
Oscar furthermore regularly advises on licensing, technology-related M&A, and joint R&D (both private-private and public-private).
In 2010, Oscar worked at De Brauw London, and in 2011 he worked at De Brauw Beijing. Oscar was seconded to ASML for part of 2013, where he assisted in IP matters and in setting up joint R&D projects.
