Pete is genuinely an international corporate lawyer. He has worked in five different jurisdictions, and he frequently works across borders on transactions. He advises on cross-border public and private M&A, joint ventures, and on other corporate and commercial transactions. While he works with a variety of businesses, across all sectors, he specialises in two areas: advising financial institutions and helping clients on transactions with a Japanese connection. Practically minded and a strong communicator, Pete excels at driving complex transactions to a successful conclusion.
Pete studied law at the University of Tokyo and has spent many years living and working in Tokyo. As a result, he works seamlessly in Japanese and English, and has a deep understanding of Japanese business and culture ‒ attributes that his clients value highly.
Before joining De Brauw in 2017, Pete worked for many years for other international law firms in New York, London, Tokyo and Australia.
