Guide to Public Takeovers in Europe

This guide is a joint product of De Brauw and its Best Friends BonelliErede, Bredin Prat, Hengeler Mueller, Slaughter and May and Uría Menéndez.

The guide summarises the main characteristics of the laws and regulations of the Netherlands, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and UK applicable to public takeover offers as effective at June 2016. We have also updated the guide to reflect legal and regulatory changes in national takeover regimes since the April 2013 edition.

The guide provides a general overview of the law and regulations applicable to public takeover offers only and is not a substitute for legal advice. For questions concerning takeover law and regulation, please contact Bernard Roelvink, or one of the partners listed at the front of the guide.
