Senior Legal Adviser - Corporate Advisory
De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek is looking for a senior legal adviser (Dutch law) to join our Corporate Advisory practice group. As a senior legal adviser, your main responsibility will be to share and develop your knowledge with colleagues throughout the firm. The ideal candidate has worked recently as a candidate civil law notary and has over five years' relevant experience as a corporate lawyer.
Corporate Advisory is one of the largest practices in our office, providing services to a range of international corporate clients and financial institutions on a broad spectrum of high-end corporate matters. You will join a dynamic team, and you will provide them with ongoing guidance, mentoring and support. The job is ideal for lawyers wishing to combine work at a premier European law firm with academic work, such as completing a PhD thesis or lawyers looking for an intellectual challenge.
About the role
You will work closely with members of our CA practice group and assist them as needed. This includes maintaining, developing and automating our legal templates, developing our precedents knowledge base, advising our lawyers in client-related matters on issues related to your area of expertise, providing content for lunch meetings and trainings, assisting in creating presentations and pitches for clients and developing tools to improve our work processes. You will also contribute to newsletters for clients and colleagues on developments relevant to the CA practice.
You will work closely with 17 other legal advisers. Together, these individuals form part of the broader Legal Operations department. Our Legal Operations department is responsible for optimising legal service delivery to our clients. There are various teams, including know-how and legal tech, data science, legal and library support and legal project management , who help achieve this end. As a senior legal adviser, you -- together with other experts in this department – will work to maximise our legal delivery.
Who are you?
The ideal candidate for this position:
• has over five years' relevant experience as a candidate civil law notary in a corporate practice;
• has broad knowledge of Dutch corporate law;
• embraces innovation in the legal industry;
• is innovative, self-starting and assertive in dealing with all levels of an organisation; and
• has an excellent command of the Dutch and English languages.
