Pierre Nijnens specialises in mergers and acquisitions and corporate law, and heads the M&A / Corporate practice. He regularly advises clients on setting up Dutch corporate structures, strategic alliances and mergers and acquisitions, particularly cross-border acquisitions involving close cooperation with foreign law firms. Pierre also advises clients on the structuring and marketing of real estate investment funds aimed at qualified investors and advises clients who wish to invest in similar funds. Pierre's clients include financial institutions and corporates.
Recent work includes advising and assisting:
- a major Dutch bank on a joint venture and on the divestment of one of its important business unit
- Dutch clients with the acquisition and divestment of U.S. companies
- a major Dutch bank in setting up real estate investment funds in various West European countries, including France, Belgium and Spain, and Central Europe
- the selling shareholder on the IPO of its Dutch subsidiary, a leading insurance company.

Within the firm, Pierre is client relationship partner of one of the largest Dutch insurance companies. Pierre headed De Brauw´s New York office from 1985 to 1990 and the London office from 1997 to 2005. He was also a managing partner of the firm from 1991 to 1997.
