Doing business in China – oppertunity or liability, or both?

De Brauw China team based in both Amsterdam and Shanghai has been assisting companies in navigating the specific challenges of doing business in China. These challenges include the unpredictable legal environment, higher compliance risks and cultural differences. Gaby Smeenk, Head of De Brauw’s China practice, Jolling de Pree, Roan Lamp and Yi Duan will be discussing some of these challenges in the area of competition law, compliance and M&A.

We have invited three guest speakers who will be sharing their extensive experience relating to China. Henk Schulte Nordholt is a China expert who has lived and worked in China for many years. Saukat Abdoellakhan, currently Head of Legal Europe at Philips Lighting, has spent six years in Shanghai as Philips’ Head of Legal Greater China, Japan and Korea. And Graham Wladimiroff has just returned from Shanghai where he worked for five years as AkzoNobel’s Director of Legal Affairs Asia Pacific.

The event will be particularly interesting for lawyers who are responsible for legal affairs in China or who have colleagues in China who report to them.
