Jonathan Soeharno receives the Comenius Prize 2026

Last Saturday, Jonathan Soeharno received the Comenius Prize 2026 in at the Grote Kerk in Naarden.

The prize recognises individuals who make an exceptional contribution to education, society and meaning, and in particular to upholding the values of the democratic rule of law.

Jonathan is recognised for his sustained commitment to the rule of law, democratic values and academic integrity. Through both his academic and professional work, he examines vulnerabilities within the rule of law, with a particular focus on the role of judges, lawyers and scholars as guardians of justice.

The jury praised his open and collaborative approach, as well as his ability to make complex issues accessible and to enrich public debate.
