With over 9,000 hours spent on 99 matters by 220 of our lawyers over the course of 2021, our Pro Bono practice is among the largest in Europe.
Many of the matters our pro bono practice takes on are as complex as our for-profit work and aim to provide access to justice for people or organizations whose voices are not being heard.
Throughout your career, you will have the opportunity to work on pro bono matter. The hours you spend are regular working hours and considered similar to our for-profit work.

We have an HR team in charge of staffing our matters, making sure that the workload is spread equally and preventing people from consistently being too busy. We also have an internal wellbeing coach. We contribute to the cost of a gym membership, and we have a mentoring programme and several other platforms facilitating open conversations about work/life balance and other wellbeing-related topics.
During your first six months, while in De Brauwerij/The Brewery, you will work at our Amsterdam office full time and during regular office hours, so working from home will not be possible during this initial period. Once you have moved to your first practice group, you can work from home in line with our internal policies.
