AkzoNobel completes sale of Primary Amides business to PMC Group

De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek has assisted AkzoNobel on the sale of its Primary Amides chemicals business to PMC Group.

Primary Amides products are used primarily in the polymer industry to create plastics bags and plastic films for packaging. Under the terms of the agreement, a manufacturing facility in Kyungju, South Korea, and all employees have transferred to PMC Group, along with the erucamide, oleamide and other primary and secondary amides sold under the Armoslip® trade names.

The transaction took place in Korea. De Brauw's Singapore office acted as lead counsel to AkzoNobel, providing strategic advice and advising on the sale and purchase agreement, tax and other areas, and assisting with closing, together with the Amsterdam office.
