Large-scale expansion of major European port
The Port of Rotterdam is working to create a new location for port and industrial activities in the North Sea: ‘Maasvlakte 2’. All permits for land reclamation came through in 2009.
De Brauw partner Nicolien van den Biggelaar succesfully acted for the Port of Rotterdam in defending the necessary permits and the zoning plan for Maasvlakte 2, which includes the industrial objectives for 'Maasvlakte 2', in court in 2010. Consequently, ‘Maasvlakte 2’ is currently the only large infrastructural project in the Netherlands that has started on time.
