Niek Biegman is head of De Brauw's London office. He specialises in corporate finance with a particular focus on advising boards of directors at multinational groups when navigating financial uncertainty. Niek has a broad transaction experience in corporate finance, capital structure advisory, restructuring and capital markets. He regularly advises corporates, investment banks, financial institutions and private equity investors, and works with leading independent law firms on cross-border transactions. He is also a frequent speaker at international conferences.

Niek’s recent work includes advising

  • HEMA on its EUR 750 million bond restructuring, including negotiations, court proceedings in UK, US and the Netherlands and a parallel M&A process, resulting in a 60% debt reduction
  • Fugro on the refinancing of its capital structure
  • BCD on the refinancing of its USD 550 million and EUR 90 million senior facilities agreement

He is excellent at mediating when there is a deadlock in negotiations. He is very diplomatic and creative in finding solutions, which is very constructive.
