De Brauw appoints Martje Verhoeven-de Vries Lentsch and Bart de Rijke as partners

Law firm De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek appoints Martje Verhoeven-de Vries Lentsch and Bart de Rijke as partner as of 1 January 2019. With these appointments De Brauw further strengthens its ability to handle highly complex legal matters with a scope spanning across borders and multiple areas of expertise.
Martje Verhoeven-de Vries Lentsch (35) specialises in commercial litigation and national and international arbitration. Martje’s particular area of expertise is the energy sector, where she has litigated extensively and has participated in arbitrations related to long-term, high-value natural gas supply agreements. In addition, Martje has significant experience in obtaining the recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments and related attachment proceedings. She has also advised clients and litigated in post M&A disputes in a variety of sectors. Bart de Rijke (36) specialises in EU and Dutch competition law. He has a special interest in technology-driven industries, building on his experience in handling major Europe-wide patent litigation involving substantial competition law issues and representing high-tech companies in complex competition matters. Bart has significant experience in acting as coordinating counsel for multi-jurisdictional merger filings. He has successfully litigated in abuse of dominance cases and regularly advises clients on related topics. His work includes advising and defending clients in cartel investigations by European and national regulators. He also regularly advises multinational clients on competition law in contractual relations, particularly those involving IP rights.
