Martijn Snoep appointed new chairman of the ACM

Martijn Snoep, partner at De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek, will start a new chapter - as chairman of the board of The Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) as of 1 September 2018. He will take over this position from Chris Fonteijn, who stepped down on 1 May of this year.
Martijn Snoep studied law at Erasmus School of Law in Rotterdam. Up until his appointment at the ACM, he worked at De Brauw for 28 years. During that time, while based in Amsterdam and Brussels, he advised companies on the application of competition law in the Netherlands and abroad. From 2010 until 2016, Martijn Snoep led De Brauw as its managing partner. Managing partner Geert Potjewijd from De Brauw: "Martijn's leaving raises mixed emotions.
