Menno Stoffer and Omar Salah speak at IBA Conference in Singapore

The International Bar Association organised the second Asia-based International Financial Law Conference on 10-11 March in Singapore.
More than 350 people attended the conference, including lawyers and in-house counsels. The following topics were covered: Attractions of and challenges in tapping the capital markets in Asia, Dispute resolution in cross-border investment and trade, Cross-border banking in Asia, Rise of shareholder activism in Asia, Growth of Islamic finance in Asia, Standardisation of loan documents in Asia, Financing mergers and acquisitions in Asia, Evolving banking regulations and post-2008 financial centers, Asian sovereign wealth funds, and Covered bonds in Asia. Menno and Omar were invited to speak on different panels. Menno was a speaker on the panel on ‘Standardisation of loan documents in Asia’, where he discussed standardisation of loan documents from an European perspective and lessons to be learned for Asia. Omar was a speaker on the panel on ‘Growth of Islamic finance in Asia’, where he discussed the global sukuk markets and the developments in Asia. Click here for the entire overview of the programme.
