Webinar Master Class – Artificial intelligence for lawyers: trends, exclusive rights, data governance and enforcement

July 3, 2020

Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) is the hot-button topic of today. Unsurprisingly, regulatory response from lawmakers all over the world has been swift. The new European Commission aims to propose a brand new European AI regulation anytime soon. In addition, Data Protection Authorities (“DPAs”) across Europe have already put AI right at the top of their enforcement agendas.

The ever increasing upsurge of machine-learning technologies is presenting lawyers with a host of new challenges. These challenges range from ensuring protection of fresh intellectual property and maintain the innovation targets set by your company, to mitigating exposure to fines, enforcement and class actions under the EU General Data Protection Regulation.

We are pleased to offer this Master Class – “Artificial Intelligence for lawyers” – in which Oscar Lamme, Axel Arnbak and Ties Boonzajer Flaes update you on the latest trends in technology, exclusive rights, data governance and enforcement. Focusing on UP aspects and data protection law, we also cover the new legal questions that land on the desks of our clients. These include:

  • How do you protect innovative AI solutions, and similar algorithms, using intellectual property rights and other legal frameworks?
  • Why are DPAs so keen on regulating and supervising AI, and what is on the horizon?
  • When is your company, when AI projects have run afoul, particularly at risk of being investigated or of facing damage claims?
  • How do we expect AI to be regulated by the EU in the coming years?

Date and time
This Master Class will be held on Friday, 3 July  from 9:00 to 10:30. Please note that our Master Classes are based on invitation only.
