De Brauw is proud to announce that it has advised CVC Capital Partners and Chios Group International - the family holding company of renowned Dutch media producer Joop van den Ende - and on the sale of 100% of shares in Stage Entertainment to US media company Advance Publications.

This success highlights the value of our existing relationships with clients and partner law firms. In 2015, De Brauw advised Chios on the sale to CVC of a 60% stake in Stage, a theatre production company featuring titles such as The Lion King, Mamma Mia!, and Aladdin. This experience gave De Brauw a strong understanding of Stage's business and a solid foundation to act as trusted advisor in this transaction.

The deal involved a great deal of collaboration across disciplines within De Brauw - who advised on a broad range of issues including deal structuring, transaction documentation, tax, employment and competition law - and with counsel in jurisdictions where Stage is active, among them fellow Best Friend firms Hengelar Mueller in Germany and Uría Menéndez in Spain.

Arne Grimme and Pete Lawley said: ''We are pleased to have advised CVC and Chios on the sale of Stage to Advance Publications, after previously advising Chios on the sale of a 60% stake in Stage to CVC in 2015. The sale of Stage to Advance Publications represents a new step in the development of the Stage business, and we are proud to have been able to contribute to this special transaction.''

The transaction - expected to be closed in late 2018 - marks the latest step in De Brauw's relationships with CVC, Chios and Stage, not to mention with Goldman Sachs and other advisors. De Brauw will continue to work closely with CVC, Chios and Stage to bring the transaction to fruition and build further upon this highly productive collaboration.
