Tobias has a broad litigation practice, with a particular focus on cross-border litigation, Supreme Court litigation, litigation before the European Courts of Justice and intellectual property law. This includes state aid litigation, soft IP litigation and Supreme Court patent litigation. In addition, Tobias is part of the De Brauw UPC team and is a registered UPC representative. 
 
Tobias regularly advises multinationals and foreign counsel on litigation strategies in the Benelux, the EU and beyond, and manages such litigation. He also provides strategic IP advice in complex M&amp;A transactions.

Maarten is an experienced litigator with in-depth knowledge of Dutch procedural law. In recent years, he has played a leading role in defending major tech companies in some of the largest class actions currently pending in the Netherlands. Trained as a Supreme Court litigator, Maarten combines profound expertise in Dutch procedural and civil law with a deep understanding of key issues in data and privacy law. He has a strong grasp of complex topics of procedural law such as appellate law and international litigation, as well as theories of damages for breaches under the GDPR. Maarten has extensive court experience at all levels of the Dutch national courts.
With 10 years of experience in Supreme Court litigation, Maarten has worked on dozens of cases across a wide range of areas, including several that resulted in landmark decisions by the Dutch Supreme Court.
Maarten also has a broad academic background. Before becoming a lawyer, he obtained a PhD in Classical Latin. He regularly teaches at De Brauw's in-house training program for associates, covering topics such as international litigation, and he frequently speaks at client events.

Tes specialises in international commercial arbitration and litigation. She has worked on a wide range of complex, high-stakes cases across various sectors and industries. Tes has advised and acted as counsel in arbitration proceedings under the ICC, NAI, LCIA, UNCITRAL and UNUM rules and in numerous disputes before national courts. 
During a secondment to the global litigation department of Shell in The Hague, Tes spent a year working on the management of Shell's litigation portfolio and gaining in-house experience.
Before joining the litigation and arbitration practice, Tes was a member of De Brauw's corporate tax team.
