Summary

Alessio specialises in international disputes, including international investment and commercial arbitration. He has acted and advised in numerous arbitration proceedings involving investment treaties, M&A and other commercial contracts, as well as in the enforcement proceedings of international arbitral awards.

Before joining De Brauw's arbitration practice in 2017, Alessio practised commercial law in an international law firm in Bologna, Italy. He also gained considerable experience in international law within the Registry of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers, the legal units of Europol and EULEX Kosovo, and the ICTY. For several years, Alessio contributed to the collection and study of Italian parliamentary and diplomatic practice on international law for the Italian Yearbook of International Law.

In 2013, Alessio was awarded the prize for Best Graduate of the Faculty of Law of the University of Trento for a dissertation on the international law of treaties.
