Carolien is counsel in De Brauw's Litigation practice. She specialises in commercial and corporate litigation, representing companies in complex disputes before the Dutch courts.

Large-scale liability matters are at the core of Carolien's practice. These are often mass claims, class actions or other complex proceedings involving areas such as consumer law, product liability, competition, securities and data privacy. 

Carolien has experience across a range of sectors including retail, medical technology, e-commerce, energy and financial services.

Carolien's recent work includes representing:

• Philips in collective securities litigation after the global recall of apnoea devices 
• Booking.com in a damages class action alleging infringements of competition law
• a US tech company in a multibillion-euro GDPR damages class action
• a nutrition manufacturer in its product liability dispute with a supplier

• COFCO in a high-value professional liability dispute against EY
