Justyna is a senior associate in De Brauw's Data, Cyber & Privacy team. Justyna specialises in contentious data protection matters and mass claims litigation, and she has played a key role in most of the mass claims handled by the team. Justyna also regularly advises clients in regulatory proceedings on a range of topical matters, drawing on her vast litigation experience.
Recognised as a strategic litigator, Justyna is known for her ability to run complex matters with vision, pragmatism and flexibility. Due to her extensive experience in managing a major follow-on class action across multiple European jurisdictions she has a broad understanding of collective litigation across Europe. She has also handled civil and regulatory matters in the UK, Portugal and Belgium. This cross-border experience continues to be a valuable asset to our clients, particularly at the outset of cross-border litigation under the Representative Actions Directive.
In 2021, Justyna co-founded the Mass Claims Journal, a semi-annual legal publication that brings together academics, practitioners and judges from across Europe. She currently serves as secretary to the journal's editorial board, a role that has enables her to build a strong network among both defence and claimant lawyers through regular exchanges of ideas and publications with leading individuals in the field.
Justyna is also a regular speaker at conferences (most recently, the International Bar Association Forum) and at client events organised by our Data, Cyber & Privacy practice, where she keeps clients up to date on relevant privacy and digital-related developments.
