Senior legal adviser M&A / private equity
De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek is looking for a senior legal adviser to further strengthen our M&A team, with a focus on private equity. As a senior legal adviser, you will focus on developing and sharing knowledge with colleagues throughout the private equity team and contributing to thought leadership and business development. The ideal candidate has at least 4-5 years of relevant experience as an M&A lawyer.
De Brauw's leading private equity practice advises across the full lifecycle of private equity investments. From fundraising to acquisition to exit – as well as on management incentive plans and key events during the investment period. Our clients count on strategic thinkers who understand their commercial interests and offer creative solutions. We advise private equity firms, asset managers, limited partners and management teams – both Benelux and international. We also regularly act on the sell-side for founders that are partnering with private equity firms. Our private equity team works closely with practices across the firm to act as a truly integrated cross-disciplinary practice.
About the role
You are part of the M&A team and private equity practice, together with one other Senior Legal Adviser. Together you support the practice by following the latest developments, offering new ideas to the team, and gathering and making accessible both market and legal knowledge. You are involved in preparing pitches as well as business development and innovation initiatives. As such you have a pivotal role within the team.
Key responsibilities include:
- acting as go-to person for the private equity practice to maximize knowledge sharing
- process optimization and development of our precedent database and M&A models
- keeping track of national and international developments in M&A and private equity
- preparing and providing internal trainings
- taking a leading role in co-authoring chapters and articles for legal journals or other relevant publications with other colleagues in the practice
- business development support e.g. pitch documentation, client newsletters, client seminars and events
- acting as a sparring partner with colleagues in M&A and other practice groups to brainstorm on specific deal terms, new developments, etc.
For this role we are looking for a candidate with a minimum of 4-5 years of M&A experience, with specific experience and interest in private equity. The ideal candidate has good analytical skills, an excellent command of the English language, and is hands on and proactive. We offer a competitive remuneration and other employment terms, flexible working hours and the possibility to partly work from home. The vacancy could be either part-time or full-time, depending on the needs of the ideal candidate.
