De Brauw is assisting Heineken in invalidation proceedings against AB Inbev in relation to the latter's EU trademark "ULTRA", registered for beer

De Brauw is assisting Heineken in invalidation proceedings before the General Court of the EU against AB Inbev in relation to the latter's EU trademark "ULTRA", registered for beer (Class 29). The EUIPO upheld the validity of the trademark, even though the EUIPO Guidelines and case law confirm that the sign at hand is a laudatory term commonly and lacks distinctive character. De Brauw appealed the EUIPO's judgment before the General Court of the EU.
