Bertrand is a senior associate in De Brauw's IP/tech practice group, where he focuses on patents and technology. While he has vast experience in high-end global patent law disputes, he also works in various tech-heavy sectors, such as telecoms, energy, consumer goods and construction. Bertrand regularly represents companies in the life sciences sector in high-profile matters that include infringement and invalidation proceedings before the European Patent Office. He is a registered representative for the Unified Patent Court.

Bertrand regularly advises on IP-heavy M&A transactions, complex R&D collaboration, and other licensing and transferring of IP and technology.

Bertrand has been repeatedly recognised by Legal 500 (Rising Star), IAM Patent 1000 and MIP. He is also an active member of the AIPPI, EPLAW and LES.
